Molded parts have excellent resistance to abrasion, boiling water, detergents, weak acids and weak alkalis as well as acidic foods and extracts. Melamine formaldehyde resin is particularly well-suited for molding food contact products, including quality dinnerware for domestic and commercial food service. Melamine formaldehyde resin molded articles are specifically approved for food contact. Additional applications include Serving Trays, Buttons, Ashtrays, Pharmaceutical Closures, Wiring Devices, Cutlery and Kitchen utensil handles. Melamine formaldehyde resin are basedon melamine-formaldehyde resins fortified with high-class celluloseas reinforcement and further modified with minor amounts of specialpurpose additives, pigments, cure regulators and lubricants. Melamine formaldehyde resin can be supplied in most colours from translucent pastels to black.Moulded parts are free from odour, light stable and have good moisture resistance.Hard and Glossy surface with excellent scratch and chemical resistance. Fats, oils and common organic solvents like alcohol and acetone do not attack the materials and they are also resistant tosurfactants and weak bases. They will also withstand attack from weak acids fro a shorter duration. Positively charged melamine-formaldehyde colloids are developed by CHC as high efficient wet-strength resins. These aqueous resins not only promote the bonding strength among fibers, but also form three-dimensional network to protect water-sensitive chemical bonds. In the paper treated with melamine-formaldehyde resins, its dimensional stability is greatly improved during humidity changes
